Galatians 1:6-9 NIV The Genuine Gospel
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!”
The church in Galatia was the result of gospel work of apostle Paul in his missionary journeys. Unfortunately, due to pride of the people, some of them started to criticize Paul and Paul’s Bible teaching. Confusion on what they believed was created among brothers and sisters in the church. Paul wrote the letter to remind and assure them that the gospel was only from Jesus Christ, the savior for all people. Any so-call gospel but was deviated from Jesus Christ was not true, they should not accept or believe in it.
There are far more false gospel nowadays than those in Paul’s time. We have to be more cautious and vigilant on the confusing messages from various platforms. Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” （Acts 4:12 NIV）Those who are willing to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord shall be saved. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NIV）Anyone claims that there is another way to be saved, it is not the gospel from Jesus Christ, we should not be deceived. True gospel changes life. We have to be sober and alert, stand firm on the truth, live our life with holiness, this is the abundant life.
