Hi Everyone,

Sharing a devotional with you from Psalm 107.

In this Psalm David gives thanks to the LORD for what he has done for them. In this passage we read 4 different times “And he delivered them from their distress.” This was not before the were struggling but in the midst of their struggle. Verse 5-6 says” they were hungry and thirsty and their lives ebbed away. The they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.”  It is when the Israelites are in need and asking God and crying out to him then God comes in to deliver them. He doesn’t just bring them out from their distress, but he brings healing and wholeness. in verse 7 it says “He lead them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.” He gives something much better in return.

Each time the Israelites cry for help God listens and God answers. God is good in that He speaks and He answers each time we come to him with whatever is going on in our lives. I wonder how long it took for the Israelites to ask for help and ask God to deliver them from what they were going through. You may be wandering in a wasteland, or sitting in darkness and things seem grim, or in rough seas. Whatever your circumstance when we can see that we cannot do it on our own and need God to deliver us, he does. He looks at our hearts if we are really wanting to be delivered and he gives us freedom to be who he created us to be. Friends whatever is going on remember God delivers us through out most trying times and sometimes it is crying out to him. Remember also that in this passage each time God delivers us we are to Thank God for His deliverance and praise Him for He is good.

Blessings,

Esther
