Hi Everyone,

Sharing a devotion with you from Hebrews 10:24-25 – And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10 talks about the sacrifice that Jesus gave to die on the cross and the implications that it has on us today. We gain a gift that we would not have had otherwise if Jesus didn’t give his life for us and tear that curtain where we can encounter God today in a personal way. As well it is to help believers be reminded of what Jesus did and bring encouragement to people who are feeling discouraged.

As I take a look at this verse I am reminded of the call to be in community so that we can spur one another on and to meet with one another. Jesus was a perfect example of that as he lived his with others and traveled with his followers. They did life together and they were together in great moments where Jesus did miracles and in times where his disciples needed him. How much more do we need to be in community and to be doing life together with one another. I have found tremendous blessing in doing life together with others as I’ve been blessed and to bless others. When I am down or when things aren’t going well in my life I count on people and Jesus to step in as we do life together. We are not meant to do this life alone friends and in this passage it tells us to not give up meeting together. Covid has really put this to the test, where we were not allowed to meet together and the way we gather has changed. However, let’s not give up meeting together! We need each other to encourage and lift one another up.

At the end of verse 25 it says “and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” We need community and all the more as we are looking to Jesus’ imminent return as the world becomes more divided and things get harder, this is where we will gain our encouragement and our strength is by gathering together in worship, in fellowship with one another. If you are not connected, please reach out as we would love to connect with you. or if you need any encouragement! let us do this in community! Friend let us meet together to spur one another on and to encourage one another in meeting together!

Blessings,

Esther
