Philemon 1:4-7 NIV Good Testimony
“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.”
This is the letter of commend to Philemon, Paul praised God for his faith. Philemon was willing to share, to learn, to grow together. “Because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus.” Do Christians suppose to grow to become in every respect the mature body of Christ who is the head? Philemon lived out his faith and love in Christ. Paul and those fellow believers of Christ were with great joy and encouragement because of the testimony of Philemon.
As Christian, we all know the importance of love God and love people. In fellowship and church ministries, these are good platform to build and exercise to love God and love people. We are not alone, God delights us to link to the head of our church, Jesus Christ, to grow to maturity which include love and purity. When people commend us, God’s name is to be praised and be glorified. Fellow Christians can be encouraged when they see our genuine faith in Christ.
