Titus 2:7-8 NIV Good example

“In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.”

Lead by example in serving the Lord is very important. Lip-service is not good. Paul reminded Titus that set good example in everything. Both speech and action have to be done with integrity and seriousness. “You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.”

(Titus 2:1 NIV)  So that people could not condemn Titus.  Although people would do everything they could to criticize or attack, they might be ashamed because they had nothing bad to say about him.

Good example brings respect and it is a superior character. It is a good way to influence others. You do not need to say much, your behavior shows who you are. We always want to be a good witness for Christ. They way we live, our interaction with people, these are the best testimonies. May God help us to live out what we believe, the Christ pleasing lifestyle. Being gentle and humble, we have self-control in our speech and in our behavior. People see our victorious life, then they knows we are followers of Jesus Christ.
