Colossians 3:3-4 NIV Eternal Life
“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Paul reminded the Christians in Colossae that they should not live under the influence of flesh or human traditions. They should live their life with holiness and purity. Because the old life had died through Christ, their lives had been restored and transformed. The new life was with Christ, “your life is now hidden with Christ in God”. Their lives had resurrected, and they had been changed. “In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3b NIV) Jesus will come again and Christians will appear with Him in glory.
We are living in a world with corruptions and human traditions. We face challenges on making the right decisions. We all should understand that our old self has died with Christ, we are born again through the resurrected Christ. We have Jesus Christ in our life, we have the strength and power to live a victorious and holy life. We know that our life on earth is short and temporary. Our life has eternal destiny, we will appear with Christ in glory in the future. May God help us to be faithful to His call, live out the abundant life now.
