Hi Everyone,

Sharing a devotional with you from Ephesians 1:17-23:

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Paul is praying for the church in Ephesus. he remembers how God has changed his life and that he was called a child of God. Paul reminds them that they are chosen by God and that they have eternal significance and purpose. Paul reminds the people that because they have Christ in them they have a purpose and significance for the Kingdom. in verse 19 says that we have the great power from God as those who believe. The early Church was given a power the same power that raised Jesus. We also have access to that kind of power as a Child of God.

The same power the raised Jesus from the dead is in us today because we have the Spirit of the living God in us and he is still at work today. What would happen if we lived out of that truth that we have been empowered with the power that God gives? I think things would be different as we see things differently, believe more boldly, and act out of a knowledge and truth that we have access to the power that raised Christ from the dead. When we are empowered by God we are representatives of Him so we will need to change the way we live as we represent the Living God. God doesn’t just want us to change out of our own will but to run to him and ask him and be in his presence in order to change us. He is more concerned with a relationship with us than to fix us.

The power of God in us gives us boldness to do what He has called us to do even though it may be uncomfortable. We cannot do the things Jesus has called us to do by our own strength or will, but we need God’s empowerment so that people may come to know how great our God is. Friends Jesus wants to hear you and empower you for greater boldness, do you want more boldness? Let’s ask Jesus to empower us so that we can do our calling according to the purpose of making the name of Jesus famous.

Blessings,

Esther
