Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a devotional with you from Deuteronomy 31:7-8

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Moses has been told by God that he will not be able to enter the Promise Land and that God has appointed another leader for Israel. Giving him these words of encouragement to build him up and for all the Israelites to see who was going to take on the lead role of bringing them into the Promise Land. Moses was not quiet about sharing with the Israelites their leader. This happens to be as Moses is speaking to the people of Israel of what is to come as he is unable to enter the Promise Land. Although Moses is not able to enter the Promise Land this does not stop him from encouraging and giving the Israelites hope of what was to come. Moses calls Joshua up and encourages him with these verses we just read. Moses may know that Joshua is scared and that is why he is encouraging him.

We may need encouragement at times as well because what God has called us to do is not always easy and we may be afraid as well. That is the same for us today we are called to be and do something only you can do. Allow this passage be an encouragement when you are feeling discouraged or scared as it says the Lord goes before you and will be with you! We each have a role here on earth as God created us to do great things for Him but He doesn’t want us to go at it alone and we can’t go at it alone. We need God’s help and courage to do what He calls us to do. We are called to do amazing things for God and may this passage be an encouragement as you continue to do the work God called you to do. Be reminded of this truth that God will go before you and will never leave you or forsake you!

Blessings,

Esther
