Hi everyone,
Sharing a devotional with you from 2 Timothy 2:1-4 – Staying Focused
What stood out to me would be the analogy Paul used to describe the life of a Christian. He compared us to a soldier whose role is to follow the orders of the commanding officer instead of getting entangled with civilian affairs. This reminds us that we are to remain focused on what Jesus has commanded us to do. Jesus is our Commanding Officer, but we can easily get entangled into the affairs of this world instead of the affairs of the Kingdom of God. We can easily get distracted by earthly affairs like pursuing riches, power and fame. Social media, pride, greed, addictions and many other things can also distract us from truly staying focused on what Jesus wants us to do. May we remain focused and having a heart please Jesus who is our ultimate goal and purpose. May God continue to lead us so that we will follow no other but our Lord Jesus Christ.
We can ask ourselves today, is there anything that is distracting us from doing the Lord’s work in our lives? May the Holy Spirit reveal that to us so that we can continue to live our lives to please our Commanding Officer, Jesus Christ!
