Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share a devotion with you from 2 Timothy 1:8-9
So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.
To live for Christ takes bravery and it is not one easy road. As Paul says here “be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.” It took bravery for Paul and the early Christians to share and proclaim the Gospel to those around them because of the persecution they would face. It also takes bravery today to share the Gospel with others even though we may not be persecuted like the early church was. God has given the early church strength to proclaim the Gospel to those around them and that is the same for us today! The task has not changed, we are to share the Gospel with those who do not know Christ yet.
It can be scary to share with others such important news because we want them to receive Jesus as their Saviour, it is also Holy work that God has called us to do. However, we are not doing this alone, but with millions of brothers and sisters around the world. With sharing stories of who God is and what He has done in your life can be scary to share but remember it is Holy work that God has appointed all of us to do. May you be brave in sharing the Good News of Christ to those around you so that more people may know Christ as their Saviour!
Blessings,
Esther
