Hi everyone,

Sharing a devotional with you from 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10 – Obeying the Gospel

The Church of Thessalonica was suffering and going through trials due to their faith. Paul reminded them that Jesus will not only deliver them but will judge those who do not obey the gospel. The obeying of the gospel caught my attention. Often times we talk about receiving the gospel which is the good news of Christ. However, rarely do we say we should obey the gospel. This connotates of not only believing but also putting our faith into action. The obedience to Christ is to believe and live out His commands. To believe is to put it into practice. If we only believe and not live it out, can we call that true believing? Just like how James put it, “Faith without deeds is dead.” May we be reminded of that too, so that we don’t only claim to believe the gospel but to truly live out the gospel in our lives in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings,

Kelsey
