Sharing a devotional with you from 1 Timothy 6:10 – The Love of Money
In this chapter, Paul talked about the love of money several times. It is so important to be reminded that money is a blessing from God, yet it can turn into something that can cause us great harm if we overly pursue it. If we begin to place higher hopes in earthly riches than in the Lord, we can easily fall into all kinds of problems and some even left the faith in pursuit of money. The love of money is the root of all evil. Greed, pride and feeling self sufficient will lead us onto a path of destruction. We need to guard ourselves and not let earthly riches lead us astray but to continue to trust and rely on God even when we have been blessed abundantly. Having a thankful heart, practicing humility and generosity will keep us on the right track. Let us not turn the very blessings of God into a curse that would lead to our own demise. May the Lord bless us and guard us with His Holy Spirit that we desire Him above everything else.
