Sharing a devotional with you from 1 Timothy 2 – God Intervenes Through Prayer
This passage reminds us how important prayer is as Paul mentioned to Timothy to remind the Church to keep praying. The reason why Paul reminds Timothy to urge the Church to pray is because God intervenes. God is working in the world towards His glorious plans. One of those great plans is for the Church to grow in holiness and godliness. Not only that, but for the the world to know the salvation of Jesus. In order to achieve that, we are to pray and ask God to intervene. Paul mentioned prayer twice in this chapter, emphasizing its importance. Prayer reminds us that God is present and is intervening in the world’s affairs. Pray also grounds believers in God’s sovereign will so that we can continue to grow in love towards one another. Prayer keeps us confident that God is always working towards His great purpose for the world. May we be reminded and discipline ourselves to pray more so that we will be able to see God’s glorious plans being fulfilled right before our eyes. A praying Church will be a Church who will live out the very will of God. May we be a prayerful Church so that God can fulfill His glorious plans in us!
