Hi everyone,

Sharing a devotional with you from 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 – Sharing our Lives

When Paul said that he was delighted to not only share the gospel with them, but his life as well. This reminds me that Paul was consistently practicing relational discipleship. Just like Jesus, although He came to preach the Kingdom of God and become the sacrificial Lamb for the sins of the world, Jesus came and shared life with the people around Him. I believe the key to making disciples of all nations must begin relationally because ministry is relational. We’re not to simply share the gospel with one person and then move on. We are to invest in them. Through our relationship, we can journey with them and help them grow. We can tell by the tone of the letter, Paul loves them as a father loves his children. People will know whether or not we truly love them because love is experienced through one’s action. May we too continue to approach discipleship making relationally and not just sharing the gospel 1 time and that’s it. May God reveal to us give us opportunity to share His love with others as we lead them into the very presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s continue to imitate Jesus and Paul as we continue to make disciples for God’s Kingdom.

Question to meditate on: How are we approaching discipleship making? As a task or relationally?

Blessings,

Kelsey
