Sharing a devotional with you from 1 Kings 3 – Asking for Wisdom
Solomon has demonstrated such great wisdom as he administered justice for Israel. This wisdom was given to him by God because he has asked for it. We also read that God was pleased with what Solomon has asked for so God granted Solomon wisdom and so much more. When Solomon administered justice between the two mothers demonstrated that he had indeed received great wisdom from God.
This is a great reminder for us because we have also been promised wisdom from on high too if only we would ask. James 1:5 reminds us that God still desires to give wisdom to His children if we approach Him with faith. May we approach God with faith so that He would grant us wisdom from on high. May we use that wisdom in all things so that we can carry out the will of God and help those around us. It is so encouraging to be reminded that our God is a giver of good gifts. He will definitely bless His children with these gifts if our hearts are for Him. Would you like to receive more wisdom from God in your every day life? Let us approach God in faith, ask for it with a genuine heart and He will surely give it to us.
