Hi all,
Sharing a devotional with you from 1 Kings 17 – God intervenes
By God’s grace, Elijah was sent to stay with a widow. By God’s grace as well, God provided food every day for the widow, for her son and Elijah. Even when God provided for them daily, once the widow’s son got sick and was about to die, she questioned Elijah and his words. By God’s grace again, God restored the boy and he was healthy again. At the end the woman said that she now truly believes that Elijah is the man of God and that his word is truth. God is so gracious and He gave the widow double confirmation of His goodness and truth. At times when difficult and challenging things happen, we can begin to doubt. However, God is patient and gracious that He will continue to intervene and reassure us of His goodness and truth. This is a wonderful reminder for all of us of who God is. God will give us many affirmations and confirmations especially when our faith is weak just to reassure us that He’s still around. May we look up to God whenever we doubt or become confused with the circumstances of life. May God restore our hope as He acts and intervenes in our toughest moments.
Blessings,
Kelsey
