Sharing a devotional with you from 1 Kings 1:11-14
While King David was very old, his son Abonijah proclaimed himself king and was celebrating. King David has no idea this was going on. This was a crucial and serious incident because this was not King David’s will. David wanted to make Solomon king. So Nathan spoke out to Bathsheba, advising her to speak to the king. Acting out quickly and giving wise and timely advise to people is so important. If Nathan have not advised Bathsheba or if it was delayed, things could have looked even more troublesome than it already was. So giving out wise advice in a timely manner is so important. May God help us to have courage to speak up in a timely manner. Sometimes when we hold back from speaking and delaying a good message, things can turn out much worse. If we missed the opportune time, sometimes it could be too late. May this thought give us the courage so that we can give wise advice in a timely manner to those who really need to hear. May we continue to help and care for one another by telling people what they really need to hear without delay.
