Sharing with you a devotional from Psalm 139:7-10

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.

As I was reading this passage I am reminded that there is nowhere we can go that is out of the reach of God. It’s been over 18 months of living in a world where COVID has changed the way we do things in all areas of life. We have been gathering online for our worship services, meeting online for small groups, and it has changed the way we interact with people. At times we may have felt lonely as we are not able to do things with our friends or our families.  I am reminded as I read this passage that the God is with us at all times. David asks, is there a place that he can go where God is not, and each time he says you are there. God holds us and guides us hand in hand to where he is. There is nowhere God is not and this gives us comfort in times where we feel as though we are alone as we can turn to Christ and look for Him. It is in those times where God seems silent or distant we need to hold onto the truth that God is always there and wanting us to look for that around us. May we take comfort in that as we look forward in what is to come. It may not always be an easy road, but take hold of the truth that there is nowhere that God is not present. May we have eyes to see where He is in the midst of our lives and that he is always there guiding us and holding us. Let us not forget that He is with us and for us, and that there is nowhere that is too far or out of the reach of our loving Father.

Blessings,

Esther
