1 Timothy 4:7-10 NIV
“Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.”

To train up the physical body requires intentional determination, such as healthy eating habits, exercises, the balance of work and rest, etc. Developing these good habits are governed by our mind and our will.

The healthy growth of the spiritual health of Christians, likewise, is also requires intentional training. Christians have to be mindful to spending the time wisely “Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.” Living out the Godly life needs to adhere to God’s will, devoted to God and demonstrate the love of God. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’” (Mark 12:30 NIV) “train yourself to be godly” starts from your heart inside. With the renewal of mind, the testimony through the lifestyle will become naturally expressed. Enjoying the blessings and promises of God become the reality.
