2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
There are ups and downs and tough times in our life journey. We may not understand the reasons or the causes. We believe that God’s grace is always sufficient for us. We continue live with peace and Joy.
Apostle Paul experienced tough times in his life. He was a faithful servant of our Lord, and yet, the tough situation was with him which he did not understand. He described it as “a thorn in my flesh” “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it (thorn in my flesh) away from me.”
(2 Corinthians 12:8 NIV) But, this thorn was not taken away. God only promised him that God’s grace is sufficient for him, and God’s power will be made perfect in those situations. Paul accepted the “thorn” with grateful heart, “for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.” Paul trusted in God, serving the God almighty with strength and courage.
Christians serve as a team in church, most of us are serving faithfully. However, there are disharmony in the service, we may not know the reasons or the causes. We pray and ask God. God’s reply is that “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Do we say that God does not understand us? Or we response as Paul did, “I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” We are continue serving faithfully and with gladness that God’s power can be seen.
