Psalms 121:1-2 NIV
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

This song of ascents was sung by people who went up to worship God. They sang with praise and thanksgiving. When we lift up our eyes to the mountains, we see the nature is so beautiful, we see the awesome work of our creator. Our God is all powerful and all knowing, abundant in grace and mercy. The psalmist said with confidence, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth”. Whether in danger, in hardship or weary, people do not need to be afraid, because God is here to help. Perhaps with the exile experience of David, he truly experienced that God was with him, God gave him strength. “He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”
(Psalms 121:3-4 NIV)

Likewise, we do experience danger, hardship and weary. How do we react to these circumstances? Do we being dominated by the circumstances and counteract the best we can with our own ability? Do we ask God for help and trust His leading? Whenever we take a look at the nature, there is no doubt that God’s creation is awesome. As we lift our eyes to look over the mountains, look up and with leap of faith, God will give us strength and endurance to keep going up and keep moving forward. God is helping us, we do not need to scare.
