Hi Everyone,

Sharing a devotional today from Matthew 1:22-23

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

As we celebrate Christmas in the coming days and in Advent we have anticipated the coming of our Saviour, let us be reminded that Jesus is Immanuel “God with Us.” It was told to the people of Israel that a Saviour would be born to a virgin and they will call him Immanuel. It is amazing that what God has promised to do he made it happen! I wonder what people must have thought when they heard this prophesy of what was to come, were they filled with hope or thought this sound kind of crazy. God has always kept His promises to the people of Israel and have not let them down. He loves so much that He gave them a Saviour. Not only was Jesus the Saviour for the Israelites but for all of humanity.

Immanuel is such an important word God with us. God is with us in the good and the bad. God becoming flesh so that he can save us and be with is such a gift! If God can come to us in the form of a man then we have the opportunity to go to Him as well! Friend in this season of remembering the greatest gift of all that the Saviour of the world came in a form of a baby is worth telling to others, so that others may get to know God as well. As well we are shown what it means to be made in the image of God as Jesus came to walk and talk on this earth. He is fully human and yet He is fully God. Jesus is our Immanuel and may we be thankful for that gift and be bold to share that with those around us! May we celebrate knowing and believing that God is With us!
