Hi everyone,
Sharing a devotional with you from Mark 3:1-6 – Breaking Jesus’ Heart
What stood out to me was when Jesus was in the synagogue and asked whether it is lawful for him to heal the man with the shriveled hand on a Sabbath. Of course the people in the synagogue thought it was unlawful. They put the Sabbath above the wellbeing of the man. It was recorded that Jesus actually became angry and distressed with their stubborn hearts. They were so uptight with the many rules they came up with on the Sabbath that they forgot all about God’s first and most important law which is love. This reminds me of how God can be angry with us when our hearts are not aligned with God’s. Not only was Jesus angry, He was also distressed. He was worried for them. When we are far from God, God is not happy about that. He is also worried for us because He loves us. Just like what a loving parent would feel when their children disobey them, become rebellious and lose sight what’s truly important. May we continue to be reminded of God’s love for us and do our best not to break His heart. At the end of the day, whether or not we do the right thing, we praise God that He will still continue to be faithful to His character and His plans. Jesus healed that man despite everybody’s disapproval. God will remain faithful and He will do it! Let’s continue to hold on to Jesus and ask Him to reveal His heart to us. Let us also to do everything to guard against breaking the heart of our beloved Saviour.
Blessings,
Kelsey
