Hi everyone,

Sharing a devotional with you from Mark 15 – The Obedience of Jesus

What stood out to me was how obedient and submissive Jesus was to the Father’s will. Jesus, being the Son of God, didn’t say a word to defend Himself. We can see Jesus’s obedience and submission to His Father until the very end. He didn’t give up half way through, but endured it until He completed the mission His Father has given Him. He knew that this must be done in order to offer salvation to the world. Even though this was the case, I cannot imagine how difficult it was for Jesus to endure the entire process. The very ones Jesus came to save mocked Him, beat Him, rejected Him and even murdered Him on the cross. Despite all of this, Jesus graciously paid His life so that we can have forgiveness. Jesus is definitely the perfect role model we need to follow. Are we too living out the Father’s will in submission and obedience?

It breaks my heart every time I read the crucifixion passages. It is always a good reminder of the grace and mercy of God. May His love draw us closer to Him and lead us to repentance. May we love our Father by doing what He says.

Blessings,

Kelsey
