Wanted to share a devotional with you from Luke 3 – Standing Firm on God’s Truth
What stood out to me would be John’s boldness. He was telling people to repent, not afraid to tell the people what they need to do. He was not cutting around the bushes and he was very direct. John stood firm on God’s truth and wasn’t afraid to preach it even if it may offend people. For John, it is what it is.
Nowadays we may hesitate to do the same because we don’t want to offend others. Sometimes we become afraid to speak God’s truth due to the challenges and difficulties we may face. However, we can be reminded by John here that he was so sure of God’s word and truth that he blesses the people by telling them what they really needed to know. May we imitate John’s courage and firmness in what we believe so that we too can bless those around us with God’s truth that will lead to life. Sometimes we do need to speak up and during those special incidents, may we have boldness and courage to stand firm on God’s truth.
