Sharing a devotional with you from Lamentations 2 – How Much Does it Take?
It’s so sad to see when the LORD’s hand is against you. Israel had fallen so far. Even after countless warnings to repent, Israel refused to listen. Now the hand of God was against them. Disaster has struck them. Now they are lamenting in their suffering. Sometimes I wonder if people will only turn back to God in such extreme circumstances? How much does it take for people to turn back to God? We humans could be very stubborn at times. How often do we lift our prayers to God when we’re in trouble? Learning from this, I pray that I too will quickly hold on to the teachings of God. Not waiting until God disciplines us with His mighty hand before we come to realize how far we have fallen. May our hearts learn to surrender and to repent. God’s word is always good for us. May God give us the empowerment to continue to love Him and to live for Him.
