Sharing a devotional with you from Jeremiah 28 – Speaking God’s Word Truthfully
This chapter really reminds me of the importance to preach God’s word truthfully. We cannot take lightly on what the LORD says because it also affects the people who hear it. We see how severe God takes misinterpretation and misinforming His people that Hananiah was judged by God and died. This reminds us to never take God’s word lightly and to always teach God’s word correctly. May we speak only the truth on what God had said and not twist it to gain favour from others. Sometimes, we may have a tendency to twist God’s word and say things to make others feel good about themselves so that they’ll like us more. However, under no circumstances should we ever compromise God’s word to reap benefits for ourselves. We are to communicate God’s truth for the sake of those who hear it. Anytime we twist God’s word in anyway, we become a false prophet. May the LORD guard our hearts and our minds so that we continue to proclaim His truth according to the Scriptures. May we be reminded that God takes this seriously and so we need to be careful and diligent with studying and teaching the very word of God.
