Hi everyone,

Wanted to share a devotional with you from Jeremiah 22 – Be a Godly Influence

This has been a sad chapter for King Jehoiachin where God pronounced His judgement because of Jehoiachin’s wickedness. With the lack of repentance, Jehoiachin turned his back on God. As a ruler too, his actions greatly affected his own nation. Instead of leading his nation to draw closer to God, he led them even further away from God. It has gone so bad that God has to finally lay down the hammer.

This reminds me that our actions do affect the people around us. Although we’re no king, it doesn’t mean that we don’t have great influence. All of us have influence in our society, especially those who are closer to us. Think of your spouse, your children, your family, friends and those you work with, you have great influence to those around you. You’re more influential than you think. Whether that be a positive or negative ultimately depends on how we live and what we value. May we always fixate our eyes on Jesus so that we can be a godly influence to those around us. May we bless others in the name of Jesus through our words and deeds as we love them. So let us ask ourselves this morning, “Have we’ve been a godly influence to those around us or have we caused them to stumble?” May the Spirit of God empower us to live godly lives and be a godly influence.

Blessings,

Kelsey
