Hi everyone,

Wanted to share a devotional with you from Jeremiah 20 – Persecuted

We see Jeremiah being physically persecuted here. He preached God’s word and pronounced judgement. Not only did the people not listen to him, they ended up beating him and publicly disgraced him. It takes courage to be obedient to God. We see a very humanly response from Jeremiah after his experience that he complained to God. However, at the end he is reminded that God is still His protector who will continue to guard him and lead him through. We can bring our complaints to God too. God can handle our complaints and our frustrations. However, just like Jeremiah, we shouldn’t linger in our complaints for too long because it can lead us away from God. During those tough times, we must be reminded of who God is. We may go through a season of hardship, but we must never forget the goodness of God. Only by holding on to God will we have strength to face tomorrow. Let us bring our worries and frustrations to God, but even more so, let us not forget who are God is. He is faithful, loving and just. May this reminder keep our eyes fixated on God in the midst of suffering so God will certainly lead us through according to His will.

Blessings,

Kelsey
