Hi everyone sharing a devotional with you from James 1:17.
17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Although this is a simple verse I want to talk about one thing, Fun. You may be wondering what this verse has to do with fun, having fun is a gift that God gives us as his people. In Jesus’ life we see that he had fun with his disciples as they went to weddings that was recorded as the first miracle that Jesus performed. Jesus spent 3 years with his disciples, he probably joked around with his friends as they went from city to city. There is a great show about the life of Jesus called the Chosen, in the show the directors and writers allow for space to show how Jesus had fun with his disciples. Fun, or things that are fun is such a gift that we get from God to enjoy how God made us and the beauty that is all around us. God has given us this gift and we can see that kids love to have fun, whether that is on a playground, or hanging out with friends, or even being at church! What a gift it is for us to have fun, and to see that it is given to us so that we can experience the fullness of God. May we see that having fun is not a bad thing, but we all need some fun in our lives. So what sounds fun to you today as it is a gift God has given us to enjoy and bring others in?
