Psalms 37:5-6 NIV
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”
We do have our resolution at the year end, and we make our plans in the beginning of the year. We have the desire to improve, to change or to modify with good intention. It is a good practice in forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, we are pressing forward. We should encourage doing it.
Psalms 37 is a Psalms of Wisdom. It describes the consequences between the evil one and the righteous one. We should not fret or envy for those who are evil, because what they are having is short lived. “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.” (Psalms 37:1-2 NIV) David reminded us to commit our ways to the Lord and trust in Him, which means that we present our thoughts, ideas and plans to the Lord. Let God give us the wisdom and power to handle them. Trust in God wholeheartedly. God will make our reward shine like the dawn and people can see it clearly, just like brightness of the noonday sun.
Whenever we draw close to God, God will stay close to us. We commit all things to God, including our plans, our decisions, areas for improvement, trust that God will give us strength. This is pleasing to God, God will do it. May we seek God with boldness, and enjoy the great improvement in year 2021.
