Deuteronomy 11:12 NIV
“It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.”

Moses reminded and encouraged the Israelites who were being set free from Egypt. Personally, they have experienced the mighty power of God, they saw God’s miracles. When they thought about their history, initially, the number of Israelites in Egypt was so small, by the time they left Egypt, the exodus, the number of Israelites were increases to over 2 millions people. “Your ancestors who went down into Egypt were seventy in all, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.” (Deuteronomy 10:22) God’s loving care did not leave them, God’s promises were fulfilled. Only with trust and obey, the people would enter Canaan, the promise land. “The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven.” (Deuteronomy 11:10-11 NIV)

In our Christian life, when we pay attention, we do notice that God’s provision and arrangement are so rich, we have learnt to thank God for His care. The time has been ticking, God’s loving care does not stop. God is so faithful and generous. “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” (Psalms 84:11 NIV) In this New Year, we need to remind ourselves to trust and obey God more. “The eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.”
