Luke 18:18-23 NIV
“A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’ ” “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said. When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy.”

Having eternal life is a blessing, people long for it. Eternal life is available to anyone who is willing to follow Christ.

From the conversation between the young rich man and Jesus Christ, we knew that the rich man wanted to have eternal life. He was looking for guidance from Jesus. “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus mentioned five out of the Ten Commandments which he understood and kept. “All these I have kept since I was a boy.” Then Jesus said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” He had to leave everything behind, did not hold on to earthy possession, because there were inheritance in Heaven for him. It was hard for him to do, because he was a very wealthy man. “When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.” (Matthew 19:22 NIV)

We are followers of Jesus Christ, we follow His teaching, to live God pleasing lives, involve in church ministry, committee to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
1) When God told us to leave everything behind, to fulfill God’s will in our life, are we willing?
2) When we pray to God, and God answered our prayer in a way which is totally different from our expectation, are we willing to follow?
3) When God told us to take down our self-ego and our own idea, but to accept others, are we willing?
4) When God told us to change, change the ways we do things in order to build up the team and moving forward, are we willing?

Our God is full of creativities, abundant in grace and patience. May we follow Him willingly and whole-heartedly, enjoy everything which He has prepared for us and be the blessings to the others.
