“The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?”
Psalms 27:1 NIV
When the goal is not set, the future is not clear, people will be anxious and fear will set in. Especially when a person is all by himself/herself, there is nobody to share or discuss, people feel insecure.
Darkness brings the horror feeling, because unable to see, safety is not sure. If there is a flashlight or candle, it will increase the sense of security, because light drives away darkness. “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?” The Lord is my light, I can see and walk without misstep, I will not fall into trap and get hurt or even death. With the presence of the Lord, I fear no more. “The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?” The Lord is always with me, He leads me, protect me, strengthen me to do the right things. The Lord has promised that He will not forsake me. I will not tremble, instead, I have peace.
God’s presence brings peace, peace is a blessing. We live in darkness no more, because the Lord is our light, we live in light, God’s word helps us, He gives us strength, He protects us. He saves us, He gives us eternal hope. May we enjoy the blessings from God and fear no more.
