Wanted to share a devotional with you from Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 – Give an Account
13 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
Solomon finally tells us the very meaning of life when he had gone on about the meaningless of life in the last 12 chapters. When Solomon had wisely thought through the meaning of life, he concludes that fearing God and keeping His commandments is the duty of all mankind. That is our created purpose. Not only that, we will also need to give an account for all that we’ve done. This reminds us that our decisions and actions matter. One day everything that we’ve done will be revealed and God will judge our every deed. I’m sure all of us have hidden secrets that cannot be revealed to the world. However, God sees all things. Nothing is hidden in His sight whether good or bad. May we remember this so that not only will it keep us accountable but that we may continue to love the Lord by fearing Him and keeping His commandments. Praise God that He has offered forgiveness of sins through Jesus to the world or else who can stand before God? With what Christ has already done for us, we no longer need to live in fear. May we remember His grace and worship Him through our obedience. May our deeds glorify our Father in heaven!
