Wanted to share a devotional with you from Ecclesiastes 10:10 – Perseverance Brings Success
10 If the ax is dull
and its edge unsharpened,
more strength is needed,
but skill will bring success.
Everyone can see that chopping wood with a dull axe is inefficient and difficult. It may require you to work 3 times harder with a dull axe, but with perseverance you can still get the job done. Solomon wants to remind us that sometimes when we lack the necessary tool to be effective in whatever we do, we can still have success if we work hard and put the effort in. As long as we persevere and don’t give up, we can attain our goal.
This reminds us how important it is to persevere through hard times and to not give up when things get difficult. When things get tough, it’s easy to give up and to raise the flag. However, Solomon reminds us that sometimes even if we don’t have all the tools we need, we can still have success if we put in the effort and persevere to the end. It may require more time and effort, but it will certainly pay off at the end. Perseverance is the key to success both in life and in our relationship with our Saviour. May God continue to bless us through our perseverance and hard work so that we may succeed and attain the goals we have set for ourselves. May we continue to strive for the Lord so that we can receive the very crown of life.
