John 14:15 NIV
Jesus Said, “If you love me, keep my commands.”
By looking at the behavior of a person, we can tell if that person loves other people. Similarly, by observing the behavior of Christian, we know if they love God or not.
In Chapter 14 in the Book of John, Jesus told his disciples about his future, the place he would go and the work he had to do. Jesus tried to strengthen their faith and encourage them to continue the ministry faithfully. In all circumstances and time, they could pray to God and God would answer. “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:13-14 NIV) Although Jesus would leave them, He would ask the Father to give them the comforter, the Spirit of truth, to help them and be with them forever. The Holy Spirit will move, exhort, lead and protect the believers of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands.” Those who love God, they understand the will of God. They will submissive to the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit. Naturally, they will keep God’s commands.
