Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Jesus came and lived as a man on earth. He experienced temptations, being misunderstood, being slandered, etc. “yet he did not sin.” Jesus Christ can “empathize with our weakness” because he did go through the same difficulties while he was on earth.

When we are going through difficulty times, we can call out to God, He understands, of course he is all knowing. He can “help us in our time of need”. The decisions are ours. We can fight using our own strength, using our own ways. Or, we can choose to “approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace”.

It is such a comforting passage that we can put our trust in God who is all powerful and all knowing. He is always available in our time of need. We may feel underserve at times, but God’s love is unconditional, God’s promises never fail us.
