Hi Everyone,

I want to share a devotional with you from 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Prior to these verses Paul is being troubled by a messenger of Satan and asking God to take away the trouble that is happening. Paul prays three times and nothing happens until God speaks not in the way that Paul has imagined. God spoke in a way that Paul was not expecting and it wasn’t to take away the troubles but to believe that God’s Grace is sufficient and in that that God will pull him through this by making his faith stronger.

I wonder when we pray how many times do we ask God to remove a trouble or a circumstance in our lives but His response is that His Grace is enough for us. We want situations to change and for God to work and change our situations, however, there are times where he makes us stronger than our situations. It is in those times of weakness or difficulty that our faith grows as we need to rely on God for our strength. As for Paul that was the only thing holding him up was the grace of God so that he could continue the ministry God had set out for him to do. May we seek Jesus in this as we go through trouble times and remember that God’s grace is enough for us through every situation. We need to be reminded that it is in our weakness and in our difficulties we can rely on God because He is enough and He will pull is through. In whatever situation or circumstance that we find yourself in today may this be a reminder to us that God’s grace is sufficient and we need to rely on God’s power to pull us through and we need to trust that He will.

Blessings,

Esther
