Sharing a devotional with you from Proverbs 24:10 – Stay Strong

Proverbs 24:10 says, “10 If you falter in a time of trouble,
    how small is your strength!”

Trouble is something everyone faces in life. When we encounter trials in life, we can choose to respond in 2 ways. Either we stay strong and persevere through it or we falter and stumble. Depending on how we respond, it changes everything. Those who can stay strong and persevere through troubles are the ones who will grow and overcome them. However, the moment we falter and lose hope is when everything will begin to go south. Hope is what keeps us going. But not just any hope, it is the hope in the Lord, trusting in His goodness and faithfulness. The moment we lose sight of God and focus only on our troubles and miseries, that is when we will lose our strength and fall into despair. It gives rise to depression, fear, anxiety and hopelessness. Your thoughts will turn negative, having poor attitude and lacking motivation to move forward. When there seems to be no light at the end of a dark tunnel, we will lose our strength and falter. If we keep falling every time we encounter trouble, life will surely be miserable.

That is why it is so important to stay strong in the Lord. Especially with this pandemic going on for over 8 months now, we can easily lose sight of God’s goodness in the midst of this trial. However, it is especially during this time when things are difficult that we need to stay strong. We not only have to stay strong for ourselves, but we also have to stay strong for the people around us whether they’re our family members, relatives, friends, co-workers and others in our community. We need to give people hope with our positive attitude and perspective. Encouragement can help others stay strong in times of trial. You can be more influential than you think. Remember, having hope is what gives us strength. May God give us the strength to overcome our troubles in life. May we always fixate our eyes on Him so we will never falter and lose sight especially during this pandemic. May God protect and guard us, keeping us strong so that we can overcome everything with the strength of the Lord. He is always good and faithful.

Blessings,

Kelsey
