Sharing a devotional with you from Proverbs 20:24 – The LORD Leads Us

Verse 24 says, “24 A person’s steps are directed by the Lord.
How then can anyone understand their own way?”

How many of you have ever wondered or have asked, “Why am I here?” or “What am I doing here?” or “Why is this happening to me?”

I too have asked these questions many times in my life. These questions reveal to me that there are so many things happening in life that I simply do not understand and especially more during difficult times. Whether or not we understand our current circumstances, does not mean we do not need to walk through and endure it. The path before us still needs to be walked. However, this passage reminds and comforts us, that nothing happening in our life is a surprise to God. In fact, God is orchestrating everything. Verse 24 reminds us that the LORD is the very one who is directing our every step. Isn’t that comforting to know? When we do not understand why we are currently walking through difficult and challenging times, we know this with certainty, that the LORD is leading us through at that very moment. The LORD is directing our every step. Knowing this truth gives us hope, comforting us to keep moving forward one step at a time. As we move forward with faith, we will begin to realise that our questions and doubts will begin to be answered one by one. Looking back in life, many things that I did not understand at first became more and more clear as I continued to journey through. God’s goodness and fingerprints were indeed present at every moment refining me, strengthening my faith, building me up and preparing me for the things to come.

Friends, God is still leading us today. He hasn’t only led us in the past, but also the present and into the future. We can have the same assurance and confidence in the LORD as we did in the past, that He still loves us and will always lead us through even though at times we may not understand why. Know with certainty that you are in good hands. God has never failed us and He will never fail us. May this truth encourage you and give you the hope you need to endure through all things including our current pandemic situation. May the blessings and the goodness of God guard and protect you in all things.

Blessings,

Kelsey
