Sharing a devotional with you from Proverbs 10: Reap What You Sow

This entire chapter compares and contrasts between the wise and the fool, the righteous and the wicked. This really reminds us how we choose to live will lead us on different paths. If we have chosen correctly, it will lead to life. If we choose wrongly, it will have its consequences. That’s really how life works if you think about it. It is reaping what you sow. This applies to all things in life. In our work, in our studies and in our relationships. It’s like why are we surprised that we’ll end up in jail if we rob the bank? Why are we surprised that some people do well in life because they put in the effort, the hours and the hard work? Why are we surprised that we’ll fail a class if we’re too lazy to study? If we are able to understand this simple reality, reaping what we sow, then we will be able to think ahead and anticipate what our choices will lead to. That is wisdom. May we be reminded of that. This chapter gave a ton of examples and analogies of what that looks like when we choose our various paths, warning us not to live like fools.

May we guard our life with God’s word so that we don’t only bless ourselves but also those around us. Whatever we decide to do will create a ripple effect, whether that’s to bless or curse others. May God empower us with His Spirit so that we not only know what we need to do, but the power and the obedience to live it out as well. May God fill you with His wisdom today so that He can bless you and allow you to be a blessing to others.

Blessings,

Kelsey
