Psalms 139:23-24 NIV O God! Lead me!
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

When nobody is around us, nobody is watching us, our thoughts and our behaviors will show who we really are. Outwardly, we may be very elegant and Godly, but deep down inside us, we may be selfish and ungodly. We need to be very careful and watchful, do not fall into the trap of self-deceiving.

We believe the triune God is all powerful and all knowing. “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.” (Psalms 139:1 NIV). God knows what we are going through and the challenges we are facing. The Psalmist David knew that God’s loving care is to everyone. David knew his own weakness, he asked God to search him to know his inside thoughts, to test him to see his reactions. If there were things which were out of line, he asked God to correct him that he could restrain himself and follow God’s leading to live a God pleasing life,

We trust in God’s power, God can protect us from falling into traps, we can stand firm without losing ground. We need to seek after God. Nowadays, the world is so disturbed. The sad part is that we try to explain and use excuses to rationalize our wrong behaviors, such explanations make us feel good, and it seems the mischievous lifestyle is justified. However, these thoughts weaken our sensitivity to make correction and move back to the right track, which leads us to drift away further without knowing. We need to ask God to search and test our heart. May the Holy Spirit fall fresh on us that we can live a victorious life.
