2 Kings 6:15-17 NIV
“When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

There are times when things are out of our control or unexpectedly coming, and no solution in near sight, we feel scared and helpless. We just don’t know how to proceed.

When the Israelites were facing the strong Aramean army, who surrounded the city. The Israelites were scared. The servant of Elisha called out, “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” Elisha answered, “Don’t be afraid, those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Prophet Elisha knew that the power of God was far greater than any army, he wanted his servant to trust in God and to experience the power of God almighty. Elisha prayed to God that his servant could see it by himself, and he did. The almighty God gave Israelites have victory over the battle, not with bloodshed of killings. Instead, they set food and water for the Aramean army. “So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel’s territory.” (2 Kings 6:23 NIV)

Whenever there are tremendous pressure, the unprecedented difficulties are crushing on us, we are not sure if we can make it. Please take heart, “Don’t be afraid, those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” The solutions which God uses may not be the same as ours. No matter how much God wants us to see or how little God allows us to know, it will not affect the fact of sure win in the power of God. Do not let our own preference or calculation to limit the sure win experience in every moment of our life. Let us put our trust in God wholeheartedly.
