Micah 6:8 NIV
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

A common question is being asked, “Does the Bible say do not gamble, don’t be quarrelsome, do not speeding, etc, etc?” Those who asked this question do not want the answer, they just want to challenge our beliefs, challenge the Word of God. So, this is not a question really. When we know that God loves the mankind, and His plans are to prosper us, the answer is right here. God will never told us to do things which are harmful to others or harmful to ourselves.

The will of God has shown explicitly in Micah 6:8, they are : 1) To act justly – when making decisions or presenting judgement, it will not side with the power, no favoritism. 2) To love mercy – to show loving care to people, to act with passion to help those in need. 3) To walk humbly – no boasting, no self-pity, we do not think we are superior than the other, keep learning, listen to advices, humble yourself to ask God for wisdom and strength. 4) To walk humbly with your God – listen to God’s direction, not just do what we like, not just do what we thought possible, but obey to God’s arrangement and sending, trust God and knowing He helps, because God is with us, we are walking humbly along side with God.

In our decision making process, do we go by our thoughts or by God’s thoughts? Do we try to please people, agree with people instead of pleasing God? May we be reminded by Micah 6:8 that the will of God is clearly written, We have to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God. Let’s live these out when working, serving and in our livings, because this is the will of God.
