2 Timothy 1:6-7 NIV
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

When we get involved in the church, we are committed to serve diligently. However, there are times we may feel that we are not capable or not confident to carry on.

Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy. Paul reminded him that he had to fan into flame the gift of God. These spiritual gifts were given by God that believers can serve more effectively in ministry. Christians should actively involved, don’t be timid. Because God has given believers the power, authority, the love for caring others, the self-discipline and ability to set good examples. Although Timothy was young, he could still do great things for God, to help people to grow in Christ.

Spiritual gifts vary among fellow Christians, we can use the spiritual gifts to serve to a greater extend. As the reminder from Paul, we have to fan into flame of the gift of God. Committed to serve with all our heart and with courage. Because God has given us power, love and self-discipline.

Only when we are willing to serve humbly, we will see the spiritual gifts in us, and we are able to serve in a God pleasing manner.
