Our History
The first Chinese Alliance Church in Edmonton was started in 1969 by Rev. Peter Poon from Hong Kong. Renting out the gymnasium of Beulah Alliance Church (then located at 124 Street) for their first worship service. In 1971, the Edmonton Chinese Alliance Church, was established at their present location at 9120 146 Street.
The church grew rapidly and was looking for expansion to other locations in the city. In 1981, through prayers and planning, the initiative to plant the North Edmonton Alliance church was put in place, and on April 15, 1984, Rev. Richard Tsang was commissioned to lead a few families to plant the North Edmonton Alliance Church, first at the Londonderry Junior High School, then, in 1987, at the purchased property and present address at 5108 McLeod Road.
As the church grew, the needs of ministries in different languages developed, with the English Ministry started in 1991 and Mandarin in 1997. The Mandarin Ministry was birthed out as an independent church in January 2008 known as the Edmonton Living Fountain Alliance Church.
